Family Sessions
At least two weeks prior to your portrait session, we will schedule a pre-session consultation. At the session, we will discuss your expectations including what you are wanting from the session, your family’s personality, what you hope to get out of the end results, what types of images you are hoping to capture, what “shots” are most important to you and more. Once we get an idea of what you’re after, we’ll start talking about the best locations and wardrobe suggestions that suit your family’s needs. We’ll also discuss what to expect at the actual portrait session.
For family sessions, Evelyn will spend up to 2 hours at the session. She allows for outfit changes and plenty of potty/snack breaks along the way – whatever your family needs. Don’t be alarmed to see Evelyn rolling around on the floor, making goofy noises, wearing silly accessories, cracking jokes, or just making a fool out of herself. She’ll resort to anything to get that genuine smile or perfect shot.
Our style is relaxed, comfortable and real. We work with families to keep things light and fun. We want to avoid the stuffy “poised” pictures and want to capture you all doing what you do best as a family – laughing, goofing off and loving each other. Feel free to bring or suggest props and/or favorite activities that might help everyone relax in front of the camera. Evelyn is always up for signing songs, playing games – again, anything for a laugh or genuine smile.
When small children are involved, we often recommend having the session at your house. Children seem more comfortable and are more apt to be themselves in familiar environment. If we choose to shoot at your home, please prep by having the following areas tidy and free of clutter: master bedroom, kids bedroom, and family room. It is also quite typical for Evelyn to come in and move around furniture so we can capture the best lighting while incorporating the elements of your home.
Family and Couple sessions generally yield 20-30 hand-edited images that are ready for viewing 2 weeks following the session. When ready, we’ll schedule an in-person ordering session at your home where you’ll get to see and touch your proofs as well as our variety sample products. Together, we’ll go through each image to ensure your selections are exactly what you want.
Clients typically invest $400-$800 on various prints, products or collections. Check out our product gallery and wall gallery inspiration for ideas.
At the ordering session, you’ll also receive the password to your online gallery. We host this gallery for 7 days following the ordering session so you can share the gallery with friends and family, and to give you more time to finalize your order, if needed.
Portraits and products are generally shipped to you 3-6 weeks after payment is received.
